Before beginning her professional career, Dr. Green honorably served in the United States Army from 1977 to 2012, during which time she excelled as a soldier, trainer, educator and mentor. In the later years of her service, she began advising several of her senior officers, notably serving as the senior enlisted advisor to the commanding general and chief executive officer of the Southeast Regional Medical Command from 2001 to 2005. To commemorate her other professional accomplishments, Dr. Green was recently honored with a Faculty Excellence Award from the dean of the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine in 2020.

In light of her fulfilling career, Dr. Green has largely attributed her success to her open-minded nature and willingness to take on new challenges and learning experiences. Accounting for her achievements, she is particularly proud to have developed and implemented the first premedical and post-baccalaureate program for enlisted service members in the Department of Defense. Looking to the future, Dr. Green hopes to continue positively influencing the lives of others as a mentor and teacher.
