Alongside her primary role, she has worked as a colorist with multiple paint companies. Ms. Penny prepared for her career at Red Rocks Community College, graduating in 1999 with an associate degree in interior design. She attributes her success to her determination and drive to try new things and improve herself.
Alongside her primary roles, Ms. Penny is a country singer and painter. She contributes her time as a volunteer singer at senior living facilities and with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She is also a past member of Women of Vision with World Vision International. Ms. Penny has been recognized for her efforts in music as an inductee into the Colorado County Music Hall of Fame. In 2007, she was the first runner-up for Miss Colorado. In the future, Ms. Penny hopes to retire and focus on her art. She wants to continue painting and singing for as long as she can.
