Prior to these positions, he worked as the district manager for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company between 1981 and 2000, during which time he created a program enacting aggressive recruiting tactics that helped transform underperforming stores into one of the highest-performing districts in the United States. Furthermore, he formerly served as the director of training and development for Applied Technology Systems Incorporated and a board member for the National Center for Juvenile Justice. Recently, Mr. Hammett has also found success with his written works, having authored “The Challenge of Leadership: Are You Up for It?” and co-authored “Take This Job and Shove It: How Employers Can Survive the Great Resignation/Revolution & Beyond.”
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Hammett pursued an education at Duquesne University, from which he earned a Master of Arts in leadership and organizational behavior in 2006. He likewise completed an executive training program at the Center for Creative Leadership and leadership training at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Attributing his success to his ability to connect with others and establish strong relationships with his clients, he has notably been presented with internal awards for exceeding company sales goals on multiple occasions.
