With more than 50 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Applegate currently excels as the owner of The Applegate Company, with which he initially became involved in 1971. An independent manufacturer’s representative agency, The Applegate Company was established by his father, Harry W. Applegate Sr., in 1959, and has handled select clients for more than 60 years. Prior to joining his father in the family business, he served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft fuel systems mechanic between 1966 and 1970. Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Applegate has been active as a member of the Westlake Kiwanis Club and the Westlake Town Criers, for which he was appointed as secretary, vice president and president over the years.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Applegate earned an associate degree from Purdue University .as well as an associate degree in business management from the University of Hawaii. Attributing his success to his tenacity, he was notably presented with an Educator of the Year Award, was recognized as the Man of the Year in 2018 and, alongside his wife, Nancy, was honored as Mr. and Mrs. Westlake in 2023. Outside of his many accomplishments throughout his career, he is incredibly proud of raising four wonderful children who have each found their own success in the field of education. In the coming years, Mr. Applegatw hopes to continue thriving at The Applegate Company while dedicating his spare time to his family
