Hailing from Sudan, Ms. Abaas earned an associate degree in 1990 before immigrating to the United States in 1991, where she obtained business management and Interpretation certifications from the Department of Health and gained valuable professional expertise with several clinics and hospitals before opening Aza Adult Daycare LLC and Aza Transportation in the Aurora, Colorado region.
Ms. Abaas began her business in 2010, while working on therapy sessions for a clinic. She obtained certification that allowed her to work in the court, where saw that many people needed help and she decided to start her own business to bring them together to socialize, participate in activities, and have fun. A Colorado senator invited them to a city hall meeting so they could propose their plans in the community and strengthen their connections with other agencies that could provide service and help them as well.
In her capacity as owner of Aza Adult Daycare, Ms. Abaas provides aid and assistance services to adult and elderly such as transpiration, food, meals, activities, field trips and benefits. Most of the clients are refugees from Iran and Syria. Ms. Abaas works with Medicare after clients receive approval for the daycare service.
Ms. Abaas attributes her success to her passion for helping others. She is dedicated to assisting others in the community to make a difference in their lives. Ms. Abaas is proud of all the work that she does for the community, most specifically, the work that she does for the elderly population through her companies. She hopes to continue providing help and assistance to others, particularly those who are less fortunate and underprivileged in the community. Moreover, seeing people happy is the most rewarding about her profession.
In the coming years, Ms. Abaas hopes to expand the businesses to different states such as Massachusetts. She also hopes for the businesses to continue to thrive in order for them to continue to provide services to the needy, particularly refugees who arrive in the country so they can have a place to live and activities in which to engage.
