Since 2018, Ms. Heitger has been active as the owner of Canine Comforts and a consultant for Perfectly Posh. Moreover, she has taught others movement as a ballet teacher for the James School of Dance Arts in McLean, Virginia since 2016. Previously, Ms. Heitger served as an equestrian trainer at Talbot Run Equestrian Center LLC in Maryland and worked in sales for American Stalls LLC in Fairfax, Virginia.
Ms. Heitger formerly excelled as a dance instructor for Ivey Ranch Park Associations in McLean, Virginia. She has performed ballet onstage and has received more than 120 five-star reviews for her professional work. Establishing her own business has been the highlight of Ms. Heitger’s career. She began her company after seeing a need for a dog daycare. She styled her business to feel like a dog summer camp, a second home for the dogs that they will enjoy.
Ms. Heitger’s area of expertise is dog behavior and personality. She has been riding since she was five years old, received her first horse at the age of seven and has remained active in the equestrian community since childhood. She attributes her affinity with horses for her success in working with dogs. Bonding with horses helped her learn how to communicate with animals and understand their needs. In the future, she plans to expand her business and start offering new services to dogs and their owners. She also plans to complete her United States Equestrian Federation judgeship.
