Dave Freetage, Owner of the Grove City Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in martial arts.
In preparation for his career pursuits, Mr. Freetage attended The Ohio State University, from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology in 1997. Since 2002, he has served his community as a police officer with the Columbus, Ohio Division of Police and since 2012 he has found success as the owner of the Grove City Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. The academy offers classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts, in addition to offering separate classes for women and children. Intimately involved in the business, Mr. Freetage is an instructor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Mr. Freetage’s areas of expertise include law enforcement, martial arts, and defensive tactics. He is a third-degree black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and attributes his success to his passion for what he does, as well as to the support of his wife. Mr. Freetage is committed to serving and protecting his community, and first considered becoming a police officer in high school. After attending college, he questioned his initial interest in law enforcement, becoming a commercial lender, but after 9/11, he realized what he wanted was to work with his community as a police officer. In the coming years, Mr. Freetage hopes to expand his business into a bigger facility while maintaining an affordable monthly rate for his customers.
