Harnessing his expertise in solar and other renewable energy sources, Mr. Fiore has thrived as the chief executive officer of Buena Vista Energy since 2012. Among his many duties in his current role, he is a site developer of renewable projects, identifying properties, such as abandoned coal facilities and close steel mills, with potential for sustainable development. He additionally has served as the chief executive officer of Community Energy Group LLC as of 2022. Prior to transitioning to renewables, he worked in the coal industry, prospecting coal properties, permeating them, mining them and selling coal to brokers.
Mr. Fiore’s father and grandfather also worked in the coal industry. He recognized the potential of solar, wind, geothermal and other sustainable types of energy and decided to focus his professional career on renewable power resources. Following his high school graduation, he began pursuing business in renewables, conducting prospecting work and obtaining the necessary permits. When he turned 21, he successfully applied for a loan to finance his business.
Mr. Fiore is especially proud of his company’s 500-acre solar development in southwest Pennsylvania. Over the next five years, he plans to continue developing brownfield sites for renewable energy and beneficial reuse. Devoted to improving the welfare of his community, he actively donates to the Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He also graciously gives to homeless shelters, feeding programs and other missions. Mr. Fiore encourages individuals to not give up, to continue toward their goals, and to avoid being discouraged by disappointments because they will come to pass.
