For four years, he served as the executive chef of the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival. For six years, he garnered experience as a culinary professor for Kapi’olani Community College.
Throughout his career, Mr. Peel has helped open three restaurants. In preparation for his work as a professional chef, he earned an associate degree in culinary arts from Kapi’olani Community College in 2002. Alongside his primary positions, he has been affiliated with numerous professional organizations related to his areas of expertise.
As a child, Mr. Peel dreamt of becoming an astronaut and went to Arizona to study aeronautical engineering. After realizing he didn’t like the subject, he continued his education while searching for his career path. Eventually, he gravitated toward culinary school, where he met a chef at Michele’s who recruited him for a job at their restaurant. After a year and a half of experience, Mr. Peel became a sous chef, and he has continued to grow as a chef since.
At Nami Kaze, Mr. Peel originally offered brunch, later expanding to have a dinner menu. The restaurant today focuses on local produce and seafood, specifically Japanese fish. In the coming years, Mr. Peel wants to use his resources to help his team at Nami Kaze achieve their goals.
