With more than 56 years of quality experience in his industry, Mr. Blake has enjoyed decades of success as the managing principal of Blake Holding Company LLC. He manages the company’s ongoing assisted living and apartment projects, and is in charge of coordinating efforts on rehab construction jobs taken on by the business. He previously was the owner of a mortgage company from 1969 to 1974. Before starting his own business, he got his start in the industry by working for a home developer from 1966 until 1969.
In preparation of his professional journey, Mr. Blake earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Puget Sound in 1965. Additionally, he completed one year of postgraduate studies at Harvard Divinity School in 1966.
Across his impressive career, Mr. Blake developed a combined total of more than 7,000 apartments, condominiums, single-family homes and assisted living units in a number of states, including California, Arizona, Oregon and Washington. He currently is managing and completing projects in Utah, Montana and Nebraska.
It has been Mr. Blake’s passion for helping the elderly that has propelled his tremendous success in his career. His primary motivation has been to develop affordable living spaces that provide seniors with warmth, comfort, happiness and security. He credits his wife for supporting him through the ups and downs of maintaining a career in real estate.
When the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic presented Mr. Blake with the most difficult challenge of his career, he developed a communications plan that enabled quarantined residents to see and speak with their families through heartfelt video conference calls. Over the next five years, he plans to continue to search across the United States for low-income living facilities that have not been remodeled for more than 30 years, with the goal of purchasing the properties and improving living conditions for the residents.
