Having accrued over two decades of experience, Ms. Freeman has excelled as an entrepreneur and business owner. Since 2004, she has served as the owner and manager of Freeman’s Flowers & Gifts. Located in Franklin, Tennessee, the florist offers a wealth of fresh floral arrangements and designs for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, proms and weddings. Operating as a one-woman team, Ms. Freeman oversees all aspects of her business, including dealing with vendors, fulfilling customer orders and offering quality customer service.
Ms. Freeman’s business originally began her late mother, Betty Freeman, purchased the Truett’s Flowers store in 1973. After restoring and renovating the establishments, the business was re-opened in 1975 as Freeman’s Flowers & Gifts. The family business has remained a staple in the community since it was founded, and Ms. Freeman is proud to continue her family’s legacy at the shop, having essentially grown up with the business.
As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Freeman pursued a formal education. To wit, she completed collegiate coursework in interior design, though she opted out of fully earning a degree in favor of focusing on her family’s company. Outside of her primary duties, Ms. Freeman remains dedicated to civic advocacy in her community, regularly participating with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of America, African American Heritage and Franklin’s Tomorrow Inc.
In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Freeman largely attributes her success to her tenacity and drive to go above and beyond in everything she does. Furthermore, she is deeply committed to ensuring each of her customers are completely satisfied. As a business owner, she has found unique ways to express kindness, love and peace through her varied floral arrangements. Looking to the future, Ms. Freeman hopes to continue learning from others and new experiences.
