Since 2015, Mr. Watkins has excelled as the owner of Desmond’s Catering. With expertise in client retention, he spends his days responding to emails, following up with existing clients and visiting prospective clients to grow his customer base. Prior to his current role, he worked with Marriot International Inc.’s food and beverage department for 15 years. In preparation for his career, Mr. Watkins earned an associate degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in 2007 and completed an internship at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in 2007.
Mr. Watkins contributes his spare time as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. For his accomplishments, he received a Whitehouse Communication Agency Certificate in 2017. He also earned a Marriot Spirit to Serve Achievement from Marriott International Inc. and was interviewed by the National Voyager. To keep abreast of his field, Mr. Watkins has maintained membership with the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce and is a junior member of the Culinary Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, learning about new cultures and trying new food.
