With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Certonio has excelled as the event director for the Key West Food & Wine Festival since 2009 and the director of event management for Dolce Events & Marketing since 2010. In these roles, he is responsible for dealing, conceptualizing, creating and executing events while simultaneously overseeing website design, ticket sales, marketing, and vendor and volunteer coordination. During this time, he was additionally active as the proprietor of Lush Bar from 2011 to 2014 and the manager for Latitudes in 2011. Prior to these positions, he served as the international director of sales with Meeting Matrix International from 2000 to 2002, a member of the hospitality staff with Centre de Management Hôtelier International in 2001 and the director of catering for New York Marriott Marquis from 1981 to 2000. Furthermore, Mr. Certonio has been incredibly dedicated to his community through his contributions to the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, Audubon House & Tropical Garden, Wesley House Family Services, The Mango Festival and various local museums and charitable organizations.

To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Certonio pursued an education at the University of Utah, from which he earned an associate’s degree in architectural engineering in 1984. Recognized as the youngest person ever appointed as the director of catering by New York Marriott Marquis, his work was likewise celebrated among the 10 Best Readers’ Choice Winners for American Festivals by USA Today in 2015, as the People’s Choice for Best Wine Festival in the U.S. by USA Today in 2022 and the Best Food and Wine Festival by LUXlife Magazine in 2022. Attributing his success to his hard work and commitment, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, he is particularly proud of his stellar efforts with the Key West Food & Wine Festival, which has helped cement their reputation as one of the best festivals in the nation. Looking toward the future, Mr. Certonio hopes to continue producing world-class, high-quality events that will allow attendees to have an impactful and memorable experience.
