In these positions, he is responsible for engineering management, comminution process equipment design, R&D (Research and Development), lean manufacturing, supply chain logistics, product sales channel development, strategic planning for sales and marketing, and project management in the Materials Handling sector for mining equipment applied in comminution, recycling, and concrete production Globally. Moreover, Mr. Lawlor supervises directly and indirectly fifty/fifty split of 120 employees, whom he has mentored, while overseeing the Böhringer Groups Ltd operation in North America and other continents.

Mr. Lawlor’s esteemed accomplishments in his field date back to 1991, during which time he pioneered the design and development the first direct drive 30-ton track jaw crusher, perceived by some as a novelty in the sector at the time – yet today, his concept is the norm. He would subsequently design and manufacture the first detachable transport bogie for tracked crushers in 1994, the first track carrier with container roll-on/off equipment in 1995, the first 50-ton large track jaw crusher in 1996, the first tracked hard rock trommel screen in 1997, the first closed circuit prescreen Böhringer impact crusher in 2000, the first 120,000KG-1000TPH track crusher in 2009, the first satellite-controlled track jaw crusher in 2014 and the first track RGF and Impact crusher with the Combi-link in 2019. In 2020 Mr. Lawlor negotiated a licensing and branding agreement for Böhringer Group Ltd with Caterpillar OEM And currently developing a range of track crushers that incorporate up to 100% CAT component content. Since 2013, Mr. Lawlor has notably held the U.S. patent for MDU (Mechanical Load distribution system) for transporting heavy tracked material handling equipment in a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner, which he cites as the highlight of his storied career.

Mr. Lawlor has been additionally active as the chief executive officer for Lawlor Inc. in Huntington, New York since 2012. Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in comminution equipment design, manufacturing and professional advisory to the Weir Group, John Deere and Caterpillar, Mr. Lawlor has earned distinction as the chief operations officer and major stakeholder of Böhringer Group Ltd. Based in Alberta, Canada, Böhringer Group is an original equipment manufacturer that designs and builds a diverse product portfolio that includes aggregate and mineral processing machinery; concrete batch plants and recycling equipment capable of recovering, reusing and converting concrete, asphalt and road base into new building materials.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Lawlor pursued an education at St. Joseph’s Secondary School Ballybunion in Co. Kerry Ireland. In addition to his primary career efforts, Mr. Lawlor earned the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science with a major in engineering management and minor in technical marketing. Though he received an individual assessment from the Interim Dean of the College of Engineering, Associate Professor, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Jeffery B Goldberg at the University of Arizona, this does not mean that a credit or degree was awarded to Mr. Lawlor from the University of Arizona.

Having become familiar with agricultural and construction equipment during his formative years, Mr. Lawlor was drawn to his field by his lifelong desire to work for himself and run his own business. He is proud to have worked tirelessly to preserve the tradition of excellence with Böhringer, as he helps to ensure that the brand has remained at the forefront of the global market with its cutting-edge product line and build integrity, especially as they continue to expand into Canada.

Within the coming years, Mr. Lawlor intends to continue the growth of his business, creating several hundred more jobs in North America, while advocating for market diversity.
