With decades of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Belham has found success as the founder and principal of Great American Holdings since 2020. The business is a real estate investment and development company focused on identifying unique income-producing assets. Prior to this role, Mr. Belham was the founding partner of Shopinvest Empeendimentos e Participacoes SA from 1981 to 2017. The company was responsible for the development, leasing and management of more than 20 million square feet across 42 regional shopping centers in Brazil.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Belham attended Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in finance. In 1973, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to his primary role, Mr. Belham garnered experience as the president of Finegan Patrimonial.
To keep abreast of his field, Mr. Belham has maintained membership with multiple professional organizations. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the American Chamber of Commerce. In recognition of his accomplishments, he has been the recipient of multiple Honorary Citizen Awards. Mr. Belham has also been named a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Leader.
Mr. Belham attributes his success to his refusal to quit and ability to learn from his failures. Following coming to the United States to enjoy his retirement, he found himself drawn to learn about multifamily properties, culminating in his starting Great American Holdings. Mr. Belham’s goal in the coming decade is to learn new things every day, achieve the highest quality in the multifamily sector, and amass assets under his management totaling $1 billion. In his spare time, he enjoys golf.
