Previously, Mr. Ricker distinguished himself through multiple roles of high leadership at such organizations as Amwins’ Partners Specialty Group, for which he served as a branch manager and executive vice president between 2010 and 2017, the president of Pacific Pro Intermediaries from 2005 to 2010, and the senior vice president of Swett & Crawford from 1993 until 2005. To remain aware of developments in the field, he has been a member of several organizations, including the Wholesale Specialty Insurance Association, the Insurance Brokers Association of New York, and the Professional Insurance Wholesalers Association of New York State, for which he served as president in 2007 and 2009.
Originally drawn to the field of corporate law, Mr. Ricker heeded the advice of his father, who suggested that he major in insurance during his college studies. To wit, he graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in property and casualty insurance in 1990. Since then, he has keenly learned the lessons of empathizing with his clients and making himself accessible to their needs. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Ricker has also sought to separate himself from the competition by committing himself to an ever-continuing education, and to cultivating a longstanding relationship with his clients.
In accounting for his overall success, Mr. Ricker largely credits his drive, self-motivation and passion in going the extra mile on behalf of his customers.
