Mr. Digby has been the president and senior advisory consultant of Digby’s Protection Group LLC since 2015. With expertise in corporate security, executive personal protection, public safety, security consulting and law enforcement, he administrates over 60 employees. Mr. Digby conducts security risk analyses on properties to establish their security needs. Since 2012, he has served as a police sergeant with the Dallas Police Department.
Prior to his current roles, Mr. Digby was a senior corporal and detective with the Dallas Police Department from 2006 to 2012. From 2000 to 2006, he was a police officer with the same department, and from 2011 to 2015, he worked as the president and chief executive officer of Digby Leadership Training & Development LLC. Mr. Digby began his career in corporate security with Guardsmark Inc. from 1996 to 2000.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Digby earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Tennessee State University in 1998. In 2004, he obtained a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, and in 2012, he completed an executive leadership certificate with the John F. Kennedy School of Executive Education at Harvard University. Mr. Digby earned an additional leadership certificate in law enforcement administration with the Caruth Police Institute at the University of North Texas at Dallas in 2012.
Mr. Digby obtained a Master of Science in strategic leadership from Mountain State University in 2012. In 2017, he completed doctoral coursework in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University. He concluded his higher education at the School of Executive Leadership with the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration in 2022.
Alongside his formal degrees, Mr. Digby holds numerous professional credentials. He is a Licensed Private Investigator and a Licensed Private Security Contractor with the State of Tennessee’s Department of Commerce and Insurance. He also holds an Advanced Peace Officers Certification and a Master Peace Officers Certification from the State of Texas. Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Digby has found success through his written works, authoring “The Impact the Caruth Police Institute Has on Leadership in the Dallas Police Department” with ProQuest LLC in 2012 and “Why You Need to Be the Man” with Xlibris in 2010.
For his professional excellence, Mr. Digby was recognized for more than 20 years of service to the Dallas Police Department and has received over 35 commendations from both internal and external sources. To keep abreast of his field, he maintains affiliation with the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration, the Center for American and International Law, the National Rifle Association of America and the Dallas Chapter of the Black Police Association, among other organizations. In his spare time, Mr. Digby enjoys traveling, bowling, running, exercising and attending church.
