Steven Alan Samson, an independent scholar, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.

A political scientist, retired college professor, and self-employed writer in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Samson now serves as an independent scholar on behalf of several media outlets, most notably The Market For Ideas, an essay journal that seeks to serve as a stage for reasoned debate and principled arguments, and the Western Australian Jurist. In this capacity, he writes extensively writes on a wide range of topics, particularly in the areas of political philosophy, intellectual history, and constitutional sources. Previously, Dr. Samson was most recently a professor of government at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, from 1998 through 2017, whereupon he earned emeritus status. During this time, he served as the first department chairman of the Helms School of Government between 2004 and 2007 and later served as the public policy program director. He likewise and lectured at the Romanian-American University and taught a variety of subjects that would come to serve as the foundation of his future work as an independent writer. Throughout the course of his career, he also served in educational roles at numerous academic institutions, including the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Hope College, and Indiana Wesleyan University, among others. 

Long fascinated with reading, writing and education, Dr. Samson first studied political science at the University of Colorado, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1969, a Master of Arts in political science in 1974 and a Doctor of Philosophy in political science in 1984. To remain aware of developments in his field, he is a member of the Philadelphia Society, the National Association of Scholars, and Truth and Transformation USA. Dr. Samson was honored to be selected for an interview for the post of historian with the United States Bicentennial Commission during his academic career, and was notably the recipient of a Henri Salvatori Fellowship Heritage Foundation at the in 1994.
