With nearly 50 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Froeter has excelled as the president and owner of Sterling Commercial Roofing, Inc. since 2008. He previously worked for the aforementioned company in a number of positions between 1989 and 2008. From 1985 to 1989, he was active as a project manager for Olsson Roofing in Aurora, Illinois. Mr. Froeter began his career with his father’s roofing business, with which he worked from 1974 to 1985.
Outside of his primary responsibilities, Mr. Froeter has been affiliated with the Northern Illinois Building Contractors Association, the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association and the National Roofing Contractors Association. He has also contributed to the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) as the co-chair of their Health and Safety Committee for eight years. Furthermore, he has built roofs for Habitat for Humanity on an annual basis. To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Froeter pursued an education at Northern Illinois University, where he completed undergraduate mathematics coursework.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Froeter has accrued several accolades throughout his career. The recipient of the Versico King’s Court Award and Versico Gold Metal Quality Award since 1995, he was also presented with the Versico King’s Court Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 and 2017, a Versico Excalibur Award in 2017 and the Versico Contractor of the Year Award in 2018. Likewise, he was presented with the McElroy Metal-Bronze Partner Award in 2017, the GAF Master Contractor Award in 2017 and 2018, the Duralast Master Contractor Award in 2017 and 2018, the Gold Medal Safety Award from CRCA in 2016 and 2020, the Safety Program Award from the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association between 2017 and 2020, and the Firestone Master Contractor Award on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2021, to name a few. Notably, Mr. Froeter was selected for inclusion among the Top 10 Inspiring Leaders of 2022 by Impact Entrepreneur Magazine.
Mr. Froeter has attributed his success to treating people the way that he wanted to be treated. Having thrived in his field without doing almost no residential roofing, he is incredibly proud of raising the bar for quality and safety within his industry, even going as far as to publish his articles on safety in the CRCA Magazine. Currently, he aims to finish a $28 million contract for a data center. In the coming years, Mr. Froeter hopes to improve Sterling Commercial Roofing to the best standard possible with each passing day.
