Mr. Harmse has had an exceptional career exceeding 25 years. For more than 20 years, he has owned and operated Kobus Business Systems, LLC, where he continues today. He obtained the business from the previous owners in 2002 after working with them since 1998. In 2007, he established himself as the owner of a real estate venture and currently owns 18 real estate properties.
As the head of Kobus Business Systems, Mr. Harmse provides point-of-sale service for restaurants and the entertainment industry. He offers computer programming and technical support services to his clients, ensuring a smooth transaction. His specialties include bookkeeping, finance, invoicing, collections, and hiring effective employees.
While living in South Africa, Mr. Harmse earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He became a United States citizen in 1987 and immigrated to the United States soon thereafter in 1991. After working in the mission field for 14 years, he could not ignore the opportunity to join a burgeoning business. This prospect propelled him to become a business owner. After retirement, he plans to return to mission work through which he can make a difference in people’s lives.
A devoted Christian, Mr. Harmse takes his mission work seriously. He has participated in six mission trips overseas, primarily to Guatemala, and 14 years in Cuba. He is a proud supporter of various mission projects abroad.
Mr. Hamse is an avid bicycle rider and he rides one mile per year of age in a single day annually. His plan is to ride 70 miles on his birthday in 2023. In addition to riding, he loves restoring old cars, including restored a 1931 Chevrolet pickup and a 1930 Forbes Model A. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
