Mr. Slaughter was deployed in combat twice to Afghanistan and Iraq and participated in five overseas tours, including in Korea and various locations in Europe. He is currently an Apache AH-64E helicopter standardization pilot at Fort Riley, where his primary responsibilities are as an active-duty army pilot of the Army Apache helicopter. He previously served as an instructor pilot and then a standardization pilot. He additionally instructs as a civilian airplane pilot and flies for the K-State Flying Club. Throughout his impressive military career, he accrued several accolades, including four Air Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, the Combat Action Badge, two Overseas Ribbons, and an Air Assault Badge.
Mr. Slaughter began investing in real estate in 2006, which led him to establish Abilene Golf and Fitness, LLC. With his entrepreneurial prowess, he has acquired and managed four LLCs amongst his other business investments, including storage facilities, a restaurant, a clay, skeet, and trap shooting sports club, multi-family apartment buildings, single-family rentals and parking lots. In the immediate future, he intends to cement Abilene Golf and Fitness, LLC as an established and superlative brand in Kansas while applying his knowledge and experience toward future businesses.
