Gino Pérez-Ferrari, owner and culinary director at AQUI Bar & Kitchens, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in dining.
With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Pérez-Ferrari has excelled as the owner and culinary director of AQUI Bar & Kitchens since 2022. He began his career as a junior manager at Shula’s Steak House from 2004 to 2005. Subsequently, he served as restaurant manager at Tony Roma’s from 2005 to 2007. He continued his career at Romano’s Macaroni Grill of Puerto Rico, where he established himself as multi-unit operations manager and executive kitchen manager from 2007 to 2014.
Mr. Pérez-Ferrari found additional success as senior culinary operations manager at The Cheesecake Factory from 2013 to 2016. He garnered expertise as executive kitchen manager at Doc B’s Restaurant + Bar from 2016 to 2019 before transitioning to chef de cuisine at Rumi’s Kitchen from 2019 to 2020. He was further associated with Darden Concepts, Inc. as executive kitchen manager from 2020 to 2022.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Pérez-Ferrari initially pursued an education at Universidad del Este, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, beverage, nutrition, and restaurant management in 2013. He completed his academic efforts at his alma mater, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in culinary management, cum laude, in 2014.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Pérez-Ferrari remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has maintained his involvement with the Southern Florida Concierge Association and the Harvest Program. Likewise, he has held the roles of event host at the Octopus Foundation, hospitality instructor ISHCA at the Universidad del Este, and proctor, instructor and ServSafe at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Pérez-Ferrari has accrued several accolades throughout his career. AQUI Bar & Kitchens was notably included in Lifestyle Magazine’s Top Brunch Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, selected as one of America’s Best Restaurants in 2023, and ranked first in its category by Yard House Miami Beach. Mr. Pérez-Ferrari was recognized with Fourth Place in the Nation by Yelp, the Second Place Finisher on favoritechef.com, and a Carla Halls Favorite Chef Quarter Finalist. His writings were additionally featured in Island Magazine, EATS, and Lifestyle Magazine.
