Title: Owner
Company: Laurie Ghielmetti Design + Art
Location: Pleasanton, California, United States
Laurie Ghielmetti, the owner at Laurie Ghielmetti Design + Art, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in residential interior design and art consultation.
Ms. Ghielmetti succeeded early in her career as an elementary school and classical piano instructor. However, after she became involved with interior design, she decided to open her design studio in 1988, where she continues to serve a diverse clientele in an ever-changing environment. Additionally, she established an art consultancy service for her studio in 1998, with which she later became involved as a consultant for other studios in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
Attributing her success to her incredible attention to detail, Ms. Ghielmetti utilized this skill when she earned a bachelor’s degree in humanities with a minor in art from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a strong reputation with her clients for her excellent customer service skills, which led her to being highlighted in prominent publications such as California Home + Design, American Art, Luxury Home Quarterly, California Homes, Sacramento, and LUXlife Magazine. Ms. Ghielmetti finds her greatest reward lies with her clients and the enduring relationships that she has built over the last three decades.
Furthermore, Ms. Ghielmetti devotes her time to serving as a member of several art councils, including the Modern Arts Council at the San Francisco Museum of Art between 2011 and 2020, the Design Council of the San Francisco Fall Show, and the Design Council for the FOG Design + Art Fair. She also served for two years as a volunteer reader for the San Francisco Unified School District. When she is not working, she dedicates her time to traveling, culture, and visiting museums.
In the near future, Ms. Ghielmetti intends to continue to challenge herself by inviting younger clients who are more daring. Her ideal client grasps the language of art and design and has strong opinions about what aspects they require. Moreover, she aims to continue traveling internationally as a guest of foreign lands in which she relinquishes some control to discover how to acclimate to a new culture.
