With nearly 15 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Beesley has excelled as owner and executive pastry chef at Sweet Indulgence Bakery since 2009. She began her career as bakery manager at Sugar and Spice from 2008 to 2009. She worked as assistant chef at Uptown Catering from 2016 to 2017 before being appointed to the role of executive sous chef at Amphora Bakery from 2017 to 2018. Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Beesley pursued an education at Coastline College where she graduated summa cum laude with an associate degree in business in 2011.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Beesley has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She completed two years of military service in personnel management in the United States Navy from 2007 to 2008. She volunteered with HumanKind, Bikers Against Child Abuse, the Young Women’s Christian Association, Freedom 4/24, and Patrick Henry Family Services. She contributed as director and committee member at the Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church, and maintained involvement with the Lynchburg Living Magazine, the Central Virginia Bridal Guide, and Millennials on the Move.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Beesley remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Central Virginia Business Coalition and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Beesley has accrued several accolades throughout her career. During her distinguished military endeavors, she received several commendations, including in 2008 when she was presented with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Naval Marksmanship Medal, the Naval Battle Efficiency Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Sea Service Medal from the United States Navy. She received further honors as a sharpshooter that same year.
Sweet Indulgence Bakery was selected as Best of Bridal Picks and Best Bakery for a Wedding Cake by the Lynchburg Living & Central Virginia Weddings in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Furthermore, Lynchburg Business Magazine named her bakery among the Top 20 Under 40, and bestowed the Best of Business Award, Best Central Virginia-Made Food/Beverage, and Most Socially Responsible Award in 2023. In the immediate future, Ms. Beesley wants to open a storefront where she can work with victims of exploitation and abuse and train them to become pastry chefs with the intention of helping them move on and establish a better life.
