Halee Nicole Porter, EdD, CHE, a Senior Texas Fellow at Teach Plus, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.
Driven to build relationships with colleagues and students from across all walks of life, Dr. Porter has distinguished herself through her role as a Senior Texas Fellow at Teach Plus, a nonprofit organization that seeks to empower teachers to exert a positive impact on the lives of their students. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading a group of teachers throughout Texas in policy advocacy, meeting with lawmakers both statewide and nationally to foster legislation that benefits the educational system and community at large. Outside of this role, Dr. Porter serves as an adjunct professor at Houston Community College, and has been an instructor of hospitality and purchasing operations at Northside High School since 2018. Highly sought after for her expertise, she has been invited to speak and present at various educational conferences and symposia.
Dr. Porter initially studied hospitality at the University of Houston, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in 2006. Following this accomplishment, she went on to attain a Master of Education at Houston Baptist University in 2016 and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership at Houston Christian University in 2021. Throughout the course of her professional journey in education, she is most proud to led a multifaceted career in classroom teaching, school leadership, curriculum development and policy fellowship. Outside of her work in education, Dr. Porter has owned All Things Sweet and Good, a bakery, since 1999.
