Mr. Davey embarked on his educational journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY New Paltz in 2003. He went on to pursue a Master of Social Work specializing in psychology at Fordham University from 2011 to 2015. He is also a licensed clinical social worker, having successfully obtained licensure via the New Jersey Licensing Exam in 2022.
With a multifaceted career path, Mr. Davey has established himself as the founder of Benny’s Bodega since 2019, an impactful initiative dedicated to community welfare that acknowledges and normalizes the struggles encountered by working-class families and seniors. Simultaneously, he has been an essential part of the State of New Jersey as a resource development specialist since 2007. His previous engagements include contributing to It Starts Today LLC and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P).
Recognitions have celebrated Mr. Davey’s meaningful work, with Benny’s Bodega receiving Non-Profit of the Year accolades in 2020, 2021, and 2022. His dedication earned nominations for the Community Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Community Service Award from the Chamber of Commerce. Noteworthy accolades also include nominations for Counselor of the Year in 2022, a finalist for Junior Knicks Coach of the Year, and inclusion on the Dean’s List at Fordham University in 2015. Looking ahead, Mr. Davey envisions concentrating his efforts on the expansion of Benny’s Bodega, as he aims to replicate the bodega’s mission nationwide while focusing on addressing the needs of working families and senior citizens.
