Martin Ivec, the president at D & I Electronics Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of electrical engineering.
Leveraging over five decades of expertise in his chosen vocation, Mr. Ivec has distinguished himself through his work at D & I Electronics Inc., a supplier of security systems based in Will County, Illinois. Since 1969, D & I has garnered a laudable reputation for meeting the security needs of thousands of businesses and residences, offering such services as alarm installation, system monitoring, commercial telephone repairs, and music, intercom and central vacuum servicing. Attributing his success to a desire for independence, Mr. Ivec previously worked as a design engineer for Motorola between 1965 and 1969.
During his time in grade school, Mr. Ivec secured a position as a pin setter. Despite the fact that the pin spotting industry was no longer in its prime, thanks to the introduction of automated pin spotters, he was fortunate enough to secure a job as a mechanic’s assistant at the Joliet Rivals Club. He continued to work there until graduating high school, and it was this experience that sparked his interest in the field of electronics. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, an accomplishment he regards with great pride. Likewise, he is gratified to have made significant contributions to various projects at Motorola, resulting in four patents, all of which have been widely adopted by the automotive industry. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ivec aspires to continue indulging in dearly held pastimes, such as traveling the world and collecting memorabilia from the World War II.
