Shannon Mustipher, Independent Spirits Educator and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in beverage consultation.
With years of experience to her credit, Ms. Mustipher has excelled as a freelance spirits educator and consultant since 2020, a position in which she conducts bartender education seminars, provides input on product creation, and works with brands as well as bars and restaurants in developing cocktail programs. She was previously active as a consulting beverage director with Glady’s Caribbean from 2014 to 2019, a brand ambassador for Denizen Rum with Citizen Spirits LLC from 2016 to 2018, and the director of advocacy with Bertoux Brandy from 2018 to 2020. She began her career as an artist and painter operating out of Providence, Rhode Island from 2003 to 2006 before working in the photography industry as a wardrobe stylist in New York City while serving in the hospitality industry in a part-time capacity. Ms. Mustipher eventually discovered her passion for hospitality and dedicated her attention to the aforementioned industry on a full-time basis in 2012.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Mustipher pursued an education at the Rhode Island School of Design, from which she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting in 2003. She later obtained her B.A.R. certification from Pernod Ricard USA. Attributing her success to her diligent work and her faith, having realized that the Bible was crucial to utilizing the talents and opportunities that God gave to her, she has been presented with a Pioneer Award and was notably inducted into the Tales of the Cocktail Dame Hall of Fame. Among the highlights of her career, she is proud to have published “Tiki Modern Tropical Cocktails with Zoe” in 2019, as it was the first cocktail book written by a working African-American bartender in over a century and eventually won the AACP Bachelor Book in Wine, Beer, and Spirit after becoming an invaluable resource during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Looking toward the future, Ms. Mustipher hopes to continue assisting with the release of Myrtle Bank Rum while leveraging her expertise to create new products and offer tools to help others with their career advancement.
