Company: Restorative Consulting Services LLC
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Rodney Toulson, owner at Restorative Consulting Services LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in coaching, training, and consulting.
With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Toulson has excelled as owner of Restorative Consulting Services LLC since 2014. In his role, his responsibilities include coaching and training teachers and principals. He started his career with Microsoft and AT&T. He worked as a teacher at Baltimore City Public Schools from 2007 to 2011 before establishing himself as restorative practices director at PreK-8 in 2012.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Toulson pursued an education at Coppin State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and political science. He went on to complete a graduate certificate in restorative practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices Graduate School. He concluded his studies at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate.
Mr. Toulson acknowledges the impact role models and mentors have had on his success. His mentor, Steve Core, played a significant role in his restorative practices work. Beverly Manigo, his former superintendent and pastor, was another noteworthy mentor to him. His wife, who has been an educator for 20 years, is his best friend and a significant source of support. It is his belief that the better one is at connecting with people, the more successful one will be at their job.
When he was appointed to the role of restorative practices director at his school, Mr. Toulson decided to enhance his expertise in the field by enrolling in a graduate certificate course. It was during this time that he developed a passion for the subject matter. His current work is his most notable achievement to date. He has gained valuable experience while working for top companies such as Marriott Hotels and Microsoft, which prepared him for his current role.
In the immediate future, Mr. Toulson intends to take and pass the bar exam as well as obtain a master’s degree in restorative practices. He has opted to pursue a graduate certificate instead of law school due to the former being a more feasible option. His aspirations include developing and expanding his business globally, working with his wife, and bringing on more licensed trainers to train restorative practices.
