Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Schmid pursued an education at the University of Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Science in botany in 2006. She completed a graduate certificate in renewable energy from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Nevada Native Plant Society, the Wildlife Society, and the California Native Plant Society, and was affiliated with the Center for Biological Diversity.
In the immediate future, Ms. Schmid seeks to grow her business by expanding into new areas and securing additional contracts. She hopes to apportion more time to her family and partaking in her hobbies which include hiking, yoga, gardening, cooking, reading, fly fishing, and traveling.
