With 35 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Gould has excelled as president and chief executive officer at Native American Advancement Corp. since 2008. Throughout her distinguished career, she has been active as a nonprofit director, artist, author, ordained mystic, carpenter, and farmer. Before embarking on her professional path, she pursued an education at Seton Hall University where she completed coursework in computer science in 1982. She holds real estate licenses through the New Jersey State Department of Banking and Insurance and is certified as a home improvement contractor and a notary public. She holds a certification in charitable registration, construction, and programming and computer science.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Gould has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributed to the Citizenship Committee, Ceremony Committee, and as a grant writer for the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Nation. She was appointed to the Department of Community Affairs’ WAP Policy Advisory Committee, the State of New Jersey DEP Environmental Justice Advisory Council, and the Endangered and Nongame Species Advisory Committee. She found success as an author of 15 books including “Seek the Better Place,” “Tale of the Turkeys’ Detailed Tale,” “The Creator’s Great Soup,” “The Blossoms of Bright Flower,” “The Wishing Doll,” “Precious Cohanzick Lenape Crabs,” and “Cohanzick Lenape Village Tales Coloring Book” which includes her people in the history of New Jersey.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Gould has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with a Legend Award by Cumberland County. She was featured in “Passing It On,” published by the New Jersey Council of the Arts. She was recognized by the Senate and General Assembly twice as an artist, educator, author, and entrepreneur. Moreover, she was recognized as a Woman of Achievement by the Garden State Council of Boy Scouts, and Master Artist for Indigenous Arts by the State of New Jersey Council of the Arts.
Ms. Gould Jacinto started her career as a computer scientist and still has extensive knowledge of computers. In 1990, she joined her tribe’s non-profit organization. Subsequently, she went into manufacturing and worked in the education sector before forming her non-profit. She is proud to have found so many ways to contribute to and celebrate her family and her heritage.
