With 43 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Gleason has excelled as owner of Gleason Architects PC since 2001. In his role, he is responsible for invoicing, reviewing payments, and project management. He began his career as a bridge engineer and designer with Illinois Central Gulf Railroad from 1981 to 1983. He worked as an architectural engineer at S.P. Asrow & Associates, Ltd. from 1983 to 1986. As an architect, he contributed to Architectural Team Three from 1986 to 1993, Chipman Adams, Ltd from 1993 to 1994, and RR Browne & Associates, Ltd. from 1994 to 2001.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Gleason pursued an education at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture in architectural design in 1981. He holds a license as an architect and is active in 23 states. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, he has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He volunteered at Veterans Projects, providing pro bono services between 2018 and 2019.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Gleason remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Life Service Network, the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition, the Precast Concrete Institute, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with an award by Landmarks Illinois for his efforts in the renovation of a senior nursing home that had been vacant for 17 years. The finished building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was featured on the Chicago Fire television show.
Mr. Gleason’s remarkable success in his profession can be attributed to his unwavering passion for his work, as well as his strong and genuine relationships with his clients. In the immediate future, he intends to retire, though he plans to stay active in his field of architecture for as long as he remains mentally agile and healthy. He intends to explore opportunities for consulting work and contribute to small-scale projects after retiring. He is considering establishing a second office in some place warm like California.
