Edward L. McNachtan, MBA, founder and entrepreneur at Provenia LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in information technology (IT).
With 23 years of experience to his credit, Mr. McNachtan has excelled in the field of information technology and entrepreneurship. As the founder of Provenia LLC since 2023, he leads the company with a focus on innovative IT solutions for businesses. Prior to this position, he served as the director of information technology at the Montgomery Common Pleas Court from 2014 to 2024, where he oversaw critical IT projects.
Previously, Mr. McNachtan served as a senior program manager at The Supreme Court of Ohio from 2006 to 2014, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the court’s IT infrastructure. He began his career as a program manager in Montgomery County from 1998 to 2005, gaining valuable experience in project management and IT.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. McNachtan pursued an education at Malone University, where he earned degrees in political science and psychology. He continued his academic efforts at Capella University, obtaining a Master of Business Administration in organization and management. Following these accomplishments, Mr. McNachtan completed various certifications, including ICM Fellows from The United Supreme Courts and National Center for State Courts, and is currently pursuing a strategic artificial intelligence program at Ashland University.
Mr. McNachtan’s most significant achievement is the development of the Ohio Courts Network, a state-wide system with far-reaching effects on the justice system. This system, implemented in only two states, Florida and Ohio, impacts pretrial proceedings, probation, judiciary, judges, and law enforcement at both state and federal levels. The data is utilized by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies to aid in catching criminals.
Mr. McNachtan considers this his best legacy due to its enormous impact on the justice system across different jurisdictions in the United States. His work on this project, previously known as the regional siege application and now called Justice Webb, is highly regarded and valued in the public sector, where such large-scale projects are rare.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. McNachtan has participated in civic activities, serving as a unit commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, Tecumseh Council. He has also been affiliated with various organizations, including the National Association of Court Management and the National Center for State Courts, where he has been an Ohio Faculty member since 2010.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. McNachtan has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized as a certified court executive by The Supreme Court of Ohio and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field of information technology and court management.
Mr. McNachtan attributes his success to a lesson he learned early in his career – the importance of staying in touch with people, connecting with them and involving them in planning. Looking ahead, he plans to expand his expertise in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, offering his services to companies as a fractional chief information officer and chief information security officer. His advice for aspiring professionals is to stay connected and involved, as every decision that leads to success is worth making.
