Barry K. Lewis, President at LES LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering administration.
With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Lewis has excelled as the president of LES LLC, an environmental compliance company focused on environmental safety, air emissions and waste disposal, since 2005. During this time, he was additionally active with the U.S. military, finding much success as an HW and IR program manager with the U.S. Navy at the Naval Weapons Station, Joint Base Charleston from 1991 to 2010, a solid and HW program manager with 628 CES/CEIE with the U.S. Air Force from 2010 to 2016, and the chief of environmental management with 628 CES/CEIE with the U.S. Air Force from 2016 to 2023. He previously served in the U.S. Army as an environmental engineering intern at Fort Devens in Massachusetts from 1987 to 1989 and an HW program manager at Fort Stewart from 1989 to 1991. Beginning his career with various odd jobs, Mr. Lewis is incredibly proud of handling his responsibilities in the field of compliance while managing the needs of his family.
Initially drawn to a future in medicine, Mr. Lewis was limited by financial restrictions and instead shifted his attention to an internship at the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He subsequently pursued an education at Mississippi State University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in biological engineering in 1984. He continued his academic efforts with a Bachelor of Engineering in aerospace engineering at the aforementioned university in 1986. Mr. Lewis eventually concluded his formal studies at the University of Phoenix in 2002, graduating with a Master of Business Administration.
Mr. Lewis has attributed his success to acquiring the appropriate qualifications and seizing opportunities at the right time and place. Among the many highlights of his career, he is incredibly proud of preventing possible compliance issues while ensuring the smooth operation and growth of multiple military bases. Looking toward the future, Mr. Lewis hopes to embrace a well-deserved retirement, during which time he hopes to become a homeowner, purchase a boat and truck, engage in outdoors activities, and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
