Brynna L. Wilson, founder and owner of Citrine & Gold LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
As head of a boutique financial services firm since 2021, Ms. Wilson oversees advising and planning, asset management, and group training for the company’s diverse clientele. Unlike many traditional firms, Citrine & Gold LLC is bound to fiduciary guidelines as an independent Registered Investment Advisor, and as such is legally required to act in the best interest of customers. Beyond that, Ms. Wilson has made it her mission to educate and empower individuals, especially female entrepreneurs and members of underrepresented communities. By equipping clients with financial know-how, Ms. Wilson fosters a sense of collective growth and abundance, thereby creating a more equitable and thriving environment for all.
Concurrently, Ms. Wilson has served as owner of Red Kite Ventures, a holding real estate company in Denver, Colorado, since 2017. Previously, she was employed as a financial services professional for NYLIFE Securities LLC from 2018 to 2022, as an agent for New York Life from 2017 to 2022, and as a sales advisor lead for REI from 2014 to 2017. Along with a Bachelor of Science in business and entrepreneurship from the College of Charleston in 2008, Ms. Wilson has completed her series 6, 7, 63, and 65 examinations, and is in the process of becoming a certified financial planner. Adding to her qualifications, she has years of hands-on experience in business management by helping to run her family’s restaurant, White Fence Farm.
Along with her professional endeavors, Ms. Wilson has lent her energy to a variety of civic roles. Since 2009, she has served as a board member of the Jamin Fund, an education charity devoted to the memory of U.S. Air Force first lieutenant Jamin B. Wilson. Ms. Wilson was also a founding board member of the Queer Business Alliance in 2019 and served as treasurer of the Denver Women’s Hockey League from 2018 to 2020. Her accolades include multiple employee of the month awards, as well as inclusion among the “40 Under 40 Business Leaders 2023” by the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Wilson has held down a variety of positions throughout their career, but it wasn’t until a friend introduced her to the financial services industry that she discovered her life calling. Drawing from her parents’ experience, Ms. Wilson realized the thrill of successfully making money work for her and began leveraging her talents to foster more diversity in the industry. Meanwhile, she found fulfillment by way of coaching and educating others, deriving a particular joy from the “Aha!” moments that arise when a client demonstrates an understanding of a previously challenging concept.
Having made major strides in the industry as a completely independent female advisor, a considerable achievement given the dearth of women in financial services, Ms. Wilson believes that her success stems from being mindful of what she needs to do to become the best version of herself. Looking toward the future, she plans to expand her workforce into a full team of advisors, tax professionals, and business entrepreneurs, and hopes to open another location in California within the next 10 years. Ms. Wilson also aims to continue her strong support of organizations like the Queer Business Alliance, while helping others achieve their financial dreams. Away from the office, Ms. Wilson has authored a book that she plans to publish within the next few years. She enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, camping, and playing with her dogs, as well as quieter hobbies such as reading.
