Brian L. Cheripko, owner, president and chief executive officer at Ansol Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the defense industry.
For more than 35 years, Mr. Cheripko has contributed as a leader and business owner in the realm of defense and manufacturing. He currently owns and operates Ansol Inc., a company he founded in 1998 that provides tools to a variety of clients, including the Department of Defense and the United States Navy. Mr. Cheripko manages teams working on five distinct projects. Most notably, he helped develop the Navy’s “event planning,” a process that pulled together the military branch’s many disparate programs into a singular defense plan. Mr. Cheripko’s work has revolutionized how the Navy operates, greatly improving the organization’s safety and efficiency. More recently, he has focused on modernizing onboard communication equipment for Navy ships.
Prior to launching Ansol Inc., Mr. Cheripko joined GEBC LLC in the position of senior financial analyst in 1996. He was eventually promoted to vice president of west coast operations for that defense industry company. In his early career, Mr. Cheripko took on the role of program analyst, first with Vredenburg Inc., a manufacturing firm, and later with Advanced Communications Systems. In the latter role, he established his expertise in the intersection of defense and communications.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Cheripko sought an education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1985. Mr. Cheripko faced adversity after he graduated; struggling to find a job in his field, he worked as a door-to-door salesman and in construction for a short time. He was encouraged by his mother to pursue a career using his degree and still credits his success to the work ethic instilled in him by his parents. With that inspiration in mind, Mr. Cheripko established the Robert and Gaye Cheripko Scholarship, which honors his parents by supporting working students or those choosing to pursue an education later in life.
Mr. Cheripko has also made a name for himself within his local community through a variety of civic engagements. He served on the visiting committee for the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Cheripko is also a proud contributor to the California Wolf Center, a nonprofit dedicated to wolf recovery and conservation.
Since playing sports with his brothers as a child, Mr. Cheripko has always pushed himself through an active lifestyle. Over the course of eight years, he and his partner climbed the Seven Summits, the highest mountain peaks on each continent of Earth, culminating with an ascent of Mount Everest in 2018. Mr. Cheripko was driven to climb these mountains by the same persistence and eagerness to take on challenges that fuels his professional life.
In addition to mountain climbing, Mr. Cheripko enjoys strength training, golf, biking and hiking. He is dedicated to continued collaboration with the Navy for the foreseeable future. Mr. Cheripko hopes to further expand Ansol Inc. while positioning the company for long-term stability. He also aims to start a charity in honor of his late mother’s life of social service as a nursing home caregiver.
