He is also the founder and chairman of Stanbury & Company, now The Evergreen Company, which he established in 2014, with operations in Australia, Europe, and the United States. In these roles, he actively seeks out businesses for acquisition, focusing on industries related to essential services, particularly clock and tool businesses, while collaborating with several private equity funds.
Mr. Kirubi’s experience also includes holding multiple leadership roles with Johnson Controls Inc. from 2019 to 2022, where he was responsible for profit and loss, transformation, and intrapreneurship across regions, including Australia, Singapore, and Asia Pacific. His positions included vice president of Command Center as a Service, entrepreneur-in-residence, vice president of ADT Asia Pacific, vice president of project delivery for Asia Pacific, general manager of transformation for Asia Pacific, region general manager for the Pacific, and general manager for Singapore. Before his tenure at Johnson Controls, he served as executive sourcing manager for GE Africa at General Electric Company from 2013 to 2014, global supply chain development leader for GE Power from 2011 to 2013, North America supply chain development leader for GE Power from 2009 to 2011, and global pricing leader for computed tomography at GE Healthcare from 2007 to 2009.
Mr. Kirubi has made significant contributions to various publications and speaking engagements. He contributed to “Regret Minimalization Framework: A Mindset to Accelerate Your Transformation” (2020), “Why You Should Work to Fire Yourself from Your Current Role in 5 Steps” (2020), and “The Interview Question Most Don’t Ask.” He was also a keynote speaker for the Common Markets for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) in 2014 and a guest on Africa Leadership Dialogues the same year. Mr. Kirubi serves on the board of the Veterinary Initiative for Endangered Wildlife, is a council member for GLG, co-facilitates the Africa Global Business Forum, and participates in the WPI Trustee Mentee Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, he is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and The Monitoring Association and is recognized as a Business Navigators Diversity and Inclusion Champion.
