In this position, she is focused on creating innovative strategies for e-commerce businesses while navigating the complex landscape of advertising, brand representation, social media, and audience outreach. Moreover, Ms. Washington is responsible for marketing personalized gifts, including message cards, plaques and wall art, launching a new line of t-shirts, coaching small businesses, developing digital products, and automating her work processes.
Ms. Washington initially embarked upon her professional path at Clark Atlanta University, from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance in 1994. Following her graduation, she began her career as a sales manager at Federated Department Stores from 1994 to 1995, a role that enabled her to hone her skills in customer relations and retail management. Ms. Washington subsequently worked as an associate store manager at Banana Republic from 1995 to 1997.
In 1997, Ms. Washington shifted her focus toward the financial sector, accepting a post with Citibank as a customer relations manager. In the years that followed, she advanced through the ranks at Citibank, serving in various capacities such as a financial consultant from 1998 to 1999, a financial center operations manager from 1999 to 2000, and a client liaison for the Office of the Chairman from 2000 to 2004. Her tenure at Citibank was marked by significant achievements, including receiving the Star Award. Furthermore, Ms. Washington cites her efforts in the Office of the Chairman, in which she leveraged her extensive knowledge of operations to transform compliance processes and enhance business practices, as a highlight of her career thus far.
In 2004, Ms. Washington was recruited as the branch manager at SunTrust Bank, where she continued to build upon her experience in financial operations and client relations. Before her present role, she found success as a business operations analyst with Cisco between 2006 and 2024. Over the course of her time at Cisco, she was recognized with the Connected Recognition Award for her exceptional work in optimizing business processes, automating workflows, and reducing manual labor. Outside of her primary responsibilities, Ms. Washington elevates her community by volunteering with the youth ministry in New York to give back to those in need.
Ms. Washington attributes her remarkable success to the incredible network of supportive individuals who generously shared their knowledge and expertise with her. She believes that her ability to embrace every opportunity and take decisive action has been pivotal to her journey. Her mother and sister, in particular, have been invaluable sources of encouragement and empathy, motivating her to keep pushing forward. Her husband, also an entrepreneur, has played a significant role in her transition from a corporate role to entrepreneurship, allowing her to fully immerse herself in their joint business endeavors.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Washington envisions herself as a creator of empowering brands over the coming years. She is additionally dedicated to launching a non-profit organization that will support mothers in providing for their families while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Ms. Washington’s goal is to help build more well-rounded entrepreneurs who do things smarter, not harder, and to help businesses reach a point where they are recognized globally and eager to make a positive impact in the world.
