With nearly three and a half decades of experience, Mr. Jones has established a successful career in construction and remodeling. He currently excels as the owner of A-1 Construction and Remodeling, a role he has held since 2019. A-1 Construction and Remodeling specializes in residential and commercial construction and remodeling services. Prior to this, he was a site superintendent with Waynco Construction Inc. from 2017 to 2019, department manager at McDonald’s from 2015 to 2016, owner of BJ’s Consulting and A-1 Construction from 1991 to 2013, and contractor with Rogers Quality Construction from 1991 to 2009. Additionally, he is a member of the Better Business Bureau and dedicates time to Habitat for Humanity. Laying a solid foundation for his success, he earned an Associate of Applied Sciences in architecture from the Community Colleges of Spokane in 1999, followed by a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Eastern Washington University in 2018.
Mr. Jones takes great pride in supporting his workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. When many employers were cutting back, he provided housing and flexible work opportunities to those in need, ensuring they had a stable income. His company, A-1 Construction and Remodeling, was able to survive and even thrive due to strategic contract clauses that allowed them to continue providing services to private homes despite state restrictions. This approach not only kept his employees working but also secured the company’s stability during a challenging time. He attributes his success to his relentless work ethic, never giving up despite his challenges. He is also determined to develop and train his workers for eventual managerial roles, confident that the quality of his work will continue to speak for itself and lead to more jobs and referrals.
In the coming years, Mr. Jones plans to establish two distinct divisions within his company. The first will be a remodeling division operating as a design-to-build entity, offering clients a comprehensive service that includes design, permitting, and inspections without the need for external plans. The second division will focus on epoxy coating, a specialty he has developed over the past few years. He is particularly excited about launching their first epoxy shower wall system. His overall goal is to achieve a level of self-sufficiency in his business operations, enabling him to transition into semi-retirement.
