Dr. Knowles is also an accomplished author with five published books. His most successful work, “The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits of Highly Successful Professionals,” is a number one bestseller on Amazon. Other notable titles include “The Emancipation of Slaves through Music,” which he teaches at Pepperdine University under the course “The African American Aesthetics from Spirituals to Hip Hop”; “Racism From the Eyes of a Child,” reflecting his experiences growing up in Alabama; “Public Relations and Media: PR Strategies for the Digital Age”; and “Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story.” Writing these books has been a decade-long endeavor for Dr. Knowles. He is currently in discussions with streaming companies about a Destiny’s Child documentary and has a deal with Columbia Pictures, part of Sony, to produce “The Mathew Knowles Story.” Laying a solid educational foundation for these accomplishments, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business administration from Fisk University in 1974. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in strategic leadership and organizational culture and a PhD in business administration, both from Cornerstone Christian University. Additionally, he completed certificates in professional development and cultural intelligence from Harvard University, as well as a professional development course in ethical leadership.
Dr. Knowles takes great pride in his role as an executive producer for the movie “Obsessed,” which topped the U.S. box office in its first week and grossed $73.8 million worldwide. He has also served as an executive producer for more than 100 award-winning multiplatinum albums across various genres, including soundtracks such as “The Master of Disguise,” “Fighting Temptations,” and “Dreamgirls,” all released under his Music World label. He also managed Destiny’s Child, one of the top female groups of all time, and later guided his daughters Beyoncé and Solange, both of whom achieved significant success, with Beyoncé becoming a leading female artist and Solange winning multiple Grammys.
Dr. Knowles then transitioned from artist management to founding his own record label, producing notable works such as Earth, Wind & Fire’s final album, “The Last Shocks of Time,” with the London Symphony and the O’Jays’ last two albums. He attributes his success to several factors, including his upbringing and the influence of his parents. Growing up in Alabama on a dirt road with an outhouse, his parents, despite not being highly educated, were second-generation entrepreneurs who fostered his belief that with passion and hard work, he could achieve anything. Dr. Knowles believes that childhood experiences are crucial in shaping who we become.
Dr. Knowles is deeply passionate about public speaking and is currently working on several exciting projects. These include a deal with Columbia Pictures for “The Mathew Knowles Story,” a documentary about Destiny’s Child, and a new book set to be released within the next five years. He places a strong emphasis on health and wellness, recognizing that such achievements are only possible with good health. Dr. Knowles is particularly conscious of the role of genetics in health and is dedicated to maintaining his physical and mental well-being daily, given his higher risk of certain diseases.
