JBElectric is a woman-owned electrical services company specializing in petroleum, CNG systems, and convenience store installations, licensed in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, and Wyoming, with plans for expansion into Utah, Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma. Her experience also includes software specialist at Pediatric Dental Software from 2016 to 2022, where she used her expertise in programming and dentistry to support clinical clients. She began her career in 2005 as a registered dental hygienist, where she engaged in clinical consulting, recall management, and dental software support. She laid a strong educational foundation, including certifications as a registered dental hygienist, an emergency medical technician from the National Registry, and a wilderness first aid instructor, as well as a specialized dental program completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Hopwood’s career path was influenced by early mentors, including her cheerleading and gymnastics coaches, who instilled in her a strong work ethic and a commitment to uplifting others. Inspired by her mother’s extensive career in dental practice administration, she pursued dentistry and, in 2015, transitioned into a training role with a Kansas City company that recognized her potential. There, she bridged clinical knowledge with computer programming, coaching dental practices across the nation to improve charting and operational efficiency. Although she thrived in dentistry, her entrepreneurial spirit led her, with support from her husband Joel, to launch JBElectric. Within eight months, the company generated $280,000 in revenue, surpassing $1 million by the second year with a team of 15 and $4 million in secured contracts by Q3-Q4. In her role, she now leads business relations, human resources, and marketing, while her husband manages field operations, setting the company on a path for continued growth.
Ms. Hopwood credits her success to resilience, determination, and a strong work ethic, shaped by mentors and family support. Guided by her motto, “Always leave the woodpile bigger than you found it,” she is committed to making a lasting positive impact in her personal and professional life.
