His past roles include manager at KC Kayak from 2009 to 2018, president of O’Brien Energy Company from 2000 to 2008, operations manager at McGinnis Inc. from 1995 to 1999, consulting operations supervisor at Energy Production Corporation from 1987 to 1995, and operations manager at McConathy Production Company from 1984 to 1987. He is also dedicated to community service, contributing to the Society of Petroleum Engineers and serving on the boards of the Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors from 2012 to 2017, the Shreveport Rescue Mission from 2010 to 2017, the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank, and as chairman of the deacons at his local church. He worked as a consultant for 15 years before co-founding O’Brien Energy Company, an oil and gas producer and exploration business, focusing on acquisition and development-driven programs. in 1999, where he served as president for a decade. Following the company’s asset sale in 2008, he took a brief hiatus before returning to the industry as an investor, eventually leading him to launch TYGR Operating Company LLC, marking a new chapter in his career. TYGR Operating Company focuses on the acquisition, exploration, and production of oil and natural gas assets. They aim to develop high-quality energy resources while maintaining strong relationships with landowners and stakeholders to support responsible resource management.
One of Mr. Flournoy’s most noteworthy accomplishments was the sale of his company in 2008 for $650 million, which was a significant achievement, especially considering the company was a startup when he joined. Over a decade, the business grew and thrived under his leadership, ultimately reaching this remarkable exit. He credits his success to his deep faith and unwavering trust in God. Currently, he is focused on building TYGR Operating Company LLC with an eye toward another successful exit.
