Establishing himself as a prominent figure in the surveying industry, he has led NorthLine Surveying, Inc., where he specializes in land measurement, survey boundaries, mapping, and topography for various projects. His expertise extends to the construction sector, where he translates paper plans into precise geometric locations on the ground for contractors to implement design features such as roadways, utilities, and building structures. Mr. Gullikson employs advanced technologies like drones and robotic total stations to enhance his work.
Before founding NorthLine Surveying, Inc., Mr. Gullikson served as the survey and machine controls manager at Interwest Construction Inc. in Burlington, Washington from 2016 to 2017. In this role, he honed his skills in managing survey operations and integrating machine control technologies into construction projects. He previously worked as the survey party chief at Obunco Engineering in Kent, Washington from 2011 to 2016, where he led teams in executing complex surveying tasks. Mr. Gullikson began his career at White Shield, Inc., where he was recruited as a lead surveyor and party chief from 2007 to 2011.
Mr. Gullikson’s professional affiliations include membership in the Skagit/Island Counties Builders Association since 2019, as well as his involvement with the Land Surveyors’ Association of Washington and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. These memberships reflect his commitment to staying connected with the latest developments in his industry while providing his wealth of knowledge to the professional community.
Mr. Gullikson supported his ambitions by completing coursework in general studies at Western Washington University in 2004. He additionally supplemented his skills with his professional land surveyor license in Washington, which underscores his technical proficiency and dedication to maintaining high standards in his field. Mr. Gullikson attributes much of his success to lessons learned from his athletic endeavors in addition to his father’s exhibition of perseverance and work ethic, which he has strived to replicate in his work.
Outside of his stellar achievements, Mr. Gullikson remains involved in various civic activities. He has contributed to those in need through pro bono work with the Veterans Memorial. He is also associated with the Burlington Youth Soccer Association having fostered a passion for soccer evident through his accomplishments as a player in his youth. During this time, he participated in a number of teams that won four state championships at the youth level and one state championship in high school. Additionally, Mr. Gullikson was selected as a player in the U.S. Olympic Development Program.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Gullikson enjoys coaching his son’s soccer team, as he seizes the opportunity to share his love for sports with the next generation. He envisions expanding NorthLine Surveying, Inc. in the coming years, opening additional offices to reach a broader client base while creating a self-sustainable entity that offers a desirable workplace environment. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gullikson also aims to engage in motivational speaking and outreach efforts to educate young people about opportunities within the surveying field.
