With a decade and a half of experience to his credit, Mr. Henry has built a successful career as an entrepreneur, specializing in automation, networking, and customer service. Since 2004, he has excelled as the owner of INEX Systems and Designs Inc. In this role, he leads a team of eight people, participates in meetings, handles numerous phone calls, visits job sites, and attends to the needs and comfort of his customers. He also oversees the progress of projects, ensuring that all aspects meet high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. He is also actively involved in various organization, including as a volunteer with the Regional Industrial Competitiveness Evaluation, Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association, and Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council. He also obtained an unrestricted low-voltage license from the State of Georgia in 2008 and his minority business enterprise certification from GMSDC.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Henry’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident from a young age, inspired by his father’s ownership of an electrical company. Despite also working at General Motors, his father successfully ran JMZ Electric, a venture that drew him toward the electrical trade. After high school, he joined his father’s business and later relocated to Atlanta, where he and his brother founded a security company in 1999. Following this, he ventured into entrepreneurship and established INEX Systems and Designs in 2009. He takes great pride in having built his business without external financial support, loans, or investors. Additionally, he has navigated economic downturns and provided employment opportunities for young professionals, which he believes is even more impressive dud to the limited resources typically available to small African American enterprises.
Mr. Henry attributes his success to his strong work ethic, exceptional customer service, and his ability to establish a reputable brand through consistent business practices, with a majority of his business coming word-of-mouth referrals. In the coming years, his primary objective is to increase the company’s sales to between $5 million and $7 million and to establish a stable platform to prepare for his eventual exit. This foundation will enable his son, brother, and colleagues to effectively carry on the business with a solid footing. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of passion in building a successful business. He encourages identifying a niche and staying true to it while maintaining the highest quality standards to ensure long-term success.
