Since 1998, she has served as the owner and administrator of Westar Plastics LLC, a company specializing in custom plastic injection molding services for industries such as marine, automotive, heavy trucking, consumer products, and sporting goods. Westar Plastics works with a variety of thermoplastic resins and provides both short- and long-term production solutions. In her role, she manages payroll taxes, quotations, and purchasing, oversees human resources functions, and handles all office operations alongside a team of three employees. Her earlier experience includes serving as a material handler and press operator at ITW Tomco, a leader in designing, developing, and manufacturing plastic products for the automotive industry, from 1989 to 1998. She is also a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, contributing since 1991, and is an active member of the National Federation of Independent Business, a small business association that advocates for the rights of small business owners in the United States.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Goltare and her husband began their careers working at an injection molding factory in Bryan, Ohio. Motivated to start their own business, her husband juggled two jobs, one at a plastic manufacturing company and another to launch their venture, working double shifts to make it happen. He officially started the business as a sole proprietor in 1996, and in 2000, she joined him to take charge of the financial operations. Together, they became partners in the business, with her husband serving as president and her as vice president. Additionally, one of her most significant accomplishments is her mastery of financial management, achieved without formal training in accounting. Through self-directed learning and practical experience, she became proficient in QuickBooks, effectively managing the company’s financial records. She emphasizes the importance of responsiveness and building long-term customer relationships, which have become a hallmark of their business. Unlike many companies that start with external funding, she and her husband built their business from the ground up, relying on loans and steadily growing through hard work and dedication.
What sets Ms. Goltare and her company apart is their personable approach to customers.
