Kim Lee Wolf, retired owner of Wolf’s Bar-B-Q LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in food service.
With nearly six decades of experience, Ms. Wolf has established a successful career in entrepreneurship, specializing in food service and hospitality. She was the owner of Wolf’s Bar-B-Q LLC, a role she held until her retirement in 2024. In this capacity, she managed the company alongside marketing experts, handled finances including payroll, managed emails and paperwork, and provided catering services for events ranging from 15 to 5,000 guests. Laying a strong educational foundation, she earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the University of Evansville in 2003 and a master’s degree in public service administration from the same institution in 2006.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Wolf joined her family business in her 20s after gaining valuable experience in other roles. Wolf’s Bar-B-Q has been a family legacy, passed down from her grandfather to her father and eventually to her, who worked in the business for 54 years and owned it for about 30. Her brothers also joined the business before retiring. Her leadership and resilience helped the company navigate challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, which she credits to her strong network and self-awareness of her abilities. The business operated for 97 years before its sale, yet she continued to oversee and operate Wolf’s Bar-B-Q, LLC, while running other businesses focused on her potato salad and bottled sauces. She officially retired in January 2024.
Ms. Wolf takes great pride in the camaraderie and friendships she cultivated over the years with employees and customers, considering these lasting relationships her greatest accomplishment. She attributes her success to a strong work ethic, her faith, and the support of those around her. In the coming years, she aims to maintain her physical and mental health while increasing her community involvement through volunteer opportunities, particularly to inspire and support young people. She also plans to assist a friend with a nonprofit organization. After dedicating over 50 years to her career, she has decided to take a year off to rejuvenate and refocus on personal growth and community impact.
