He also garnered significant success with Marathon Petroleum Corporation as a project engineer I in Findlay, Ohio, and project engineer II in Tampa between 2014 and 2019.
While employed by Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Rice was responsible for all operations in Florida, where one of his collaborators was Attaway Services Inc. During that time, Attaway Services offered him an opportunity to join their team several times. After Marathon wanted to relocate him again, Mr. Rice pivoted and joined Attaway Services Inc., where he successfully expanded the business, constructed two state-of-the-art facilities from the ground up and developed pioneering concepts and transitions that resulted in several promotions.
Among other noteworthy projects, Mr. Rice was involved in a substantial expansion project at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. The project was subsequently featured and recognized in Airport Improvement Magazine for impacting the region’s infrastructure and air travel experience.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Rice received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in University Park in 2014. While pursuing his degree, he earned experience as an engineering intern from 2013 to 2014. Furthermore, Mr. Rice received credentials as a professional engineer through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers in 2021, reflecting his dedication and expertise in the industry.
As an active leader in the engineering profession, Mr. Rice remains affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers. Civically, he has been a founding board member at The Equitas Group since 2020 and a mentor for the Fordham Prep George Jackson Mentorship Program since 2021. These activities demonstrate his commitment to both the engineering profession and the local community.
In recognition of his professional success, Mr. Rice was lauded as a top-performing employee at Marathon Petroleum Corporation for two consecutive years. He attributes his success to his dedication, perseverance and belief that consistently pushing himself will lead to progress.
