Eric Ng, Art Director and Designer at Commercial Type, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Art and Interior Design.
Mr. Ng is a distinguished graphic designer and educator who joined Commercial Type, a company based in New York and London, as an art director and designer in 2023. As such, he is tasked with creating content logo marks, typography, images, photography and icons for the organization, specializing in designing typefaces for clients for all types of projects. Before joining Commercial Type full-time, Mr. Ng freelanced for Commercial Type from 2022 to 2023. He also had the opportunity to work for the New Jersey Devils as a freelance and junior graphic designer and at Pace University as a junior graphic designer.
Besides his industry-related expertise, Mr. Ng had the opportunity to teach as an adjunct professor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, from 2019 to 2020 and at East Carolina University in 2023. His expertise in commercial technology, branding, visual identity, marketing campaigns, publication design and other areas of the field have been pivotal to his career success. Mr. Ng also notes his expertise as a visual learner, which has significantly impacted his success and his fascination for graphic design, particularly as it relates to visual storytelling and communication.
Highly educated, Mr. Ng received an Associate of Applied Science in business administration from Essex County College in 2011, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Rutgers University in 2015 and a Master of Fine Arts in graphic design from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2023. He is also an active member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Throughout his career, Mr. Ng has developed a remarkable portfolio of work, which he hopes to expand by eventually establishing his own studio. Additionally, he intends to return to the classroom, where he can impact young designers, support their growth and hone their skills.
