Over the past five years, Mr. Askew has focused on several key service areas. Initially, he provides prospective clients with an online quality/process consultation. As such, he studies their current plan and asks questions about upcoming projects needing assistance. Based on their current situation, Mr. Askew will develop a comprehensive plan that will set the tone for future success. He also offers additional assistance concerning long-term quality and process support. His goal is to help businesses resolve various issues that are causing them to fail and provide insight that will create value in the long term and lead to growth and profit.
In addition to managing his busy consulting firm, Mr. Askew has been garnering success in sales as a representative at Palnelright in Ludlow. Joining the organization the same year that he launched Lloyd Askew Consulting, Panelright focuses on reducing cost and eliminating eWaste as a foremost provider of innovative PCB panel optimization solutions.
Leveraging many years in the wire and cable industry, Mr. Askew began his career with Hendrix Wire & Cable in 1984 as a process engineering manager before being promoted to materials manager from 1986 to 1988. He was then acquired by Reynolds Metals Company, where he worked as an applications engineer between 1988 and 1989 and then as a quality assurance and technology manager from 1989 to 1992. Subsequently, Mr. Askew was acquired by Rome Cable in 1993 as a manager of process and facilities engineering before becoming the director of engineering at Kalas Manufacturing in 1995.
Over the next 25 years, Mr. Askew continually progressed in his field, culminating in his role as a quality manager and quality and technical manager at Lake Cable until 2020. His expertise in team building in the quality and technical field of electrical wire and cable manufacturing has been instrumental in his ability to lead his own firm as a successful entrepreneur.
Mr. Askew graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, in 1974. His degree has been complemented by several professional certifications, including polymer engineering from the University of Massachusetts, quality engineering from Clackamas Community College, AutoCAD from Lancaster County Career and Technology Center, and systems engineering from Pennsylvania State Great Valley.
To remain at the forefront of his industry, Mr. Askew has been affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the American Society for Quality, SAE International, and The Wire Association International Inc. As a dedicated member of his community, Mr. Askew has volunteered for various activities through Freemasonry and has participated in charity work through the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity Inc. He draws satisfaction from giving back to worthy causes that positively impact society.
As a consultant, Mr. Askew can continually take on clients as he sees fit. However, he does intend to wind down in terms of the time he spends actively working. Eager to devote more of himself to his wife and daughters, he looks forward to engaging in more personal ventures.
