Mr. Larson, owner and operator of a local franchise, America’s Swimming Pool Company, in Apollo Beach, Florida, has excelled as an entrepreneur since early 2024. Since launching his location, he has grown his customer base to approximately 200. In addition to providing routine pool cleaning and maintenance services, he and his team offer in-depth cleaning services, such as acid washes, filter cleanings and pool deck maintenance. Additionally, they specialize in repairs, remodeling, brand-new pool installations, and inspections for residential and commercial clients. Mr. Larson is tasked with managing daily operations and employees, scheduling weekly maintenance services, and, among other duties, troubleshooting and performing repairs and undertaking renovation projects.
A Georgia Institute of Technology graduate, Mr. Larson received a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering in 2004. Subsequently, he received a master’s degree in engineering management from Old Dominion University in 2010 and a second master’s degree in military operational art and science, military joint operations planning and strategy from the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College in 2015. Furthermore, Mr. Larson received numerous professional designations, including as a certified pool and spa contractor by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation in 2024, certified pool and spa operator through the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance in 2024, and the completion of the Section 608 Environmental Protection Agency certificate program for stationary HVACR systems and equipment through The Training Center in 2024.
Beginning his career in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Larson served his country from 2004 to 2024, earning the rank of commander and becoming recognized as an expert in submarine warfare. During his tenure, he completed deployments to Europe, Africa and the Pacific, worked alongside special operations forces, and spent several years in different staff roles focused on the U.S. Navy’s torpedo and underwater testing in The Bahamas. Among other accomplishments, Mr. Larson was the targeting officer for the Joint Interagency Task Force South in Key West, Florida, where he collaborated with such agencies as the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI and U.S. Homeland Security. His success earned him the U.S. Interdiction Coordinator Award from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy in 2016 and several Meritorious Service, Commendation and Achievement Medals. Mr. Larson remains active in his community as a member of Project Transition USA and the Greater Southshore Chamber of Commerce, a youth soccer coach for i9 Sports, and an architectural review committee member for the Symphony Isles Homeowners Association. His future goals include having his franchise become recognized as the largest and most trusted pool company in his area.
